About us
We’re a small, specialist consultancy helping UK charities get the most from their digital systems, particularly CRMs, data, and automation tools. Our work includes designing and implementing CRM solutions, integrating systems, and guiding charity teams to use these tools effectively.
About the role
We’re looking for freelance CRM consultants to support our growing portfolio of UK charity clients using Beacon CRM, which may include some exposure to other CRM systems, custom data platforms and solutions.
You’ll work with charities of all sizes to help them understand, configure, and get the best value from their CRM, this could include data imports and workflow setup through to reporting and process design.
Training and mentoring will be provided for those new to Beacon CRM, so applicants with familiarity with other CRM platforms is welcome.
All ability levels and specialisms are considered, from technically-minded administrators or data engineers, to experienced CRM functional consultants.
Typical responsibilities
- Support charity teams with CRM setup, configuration, and data management
- Clean, prepare and import customer data
- Build custom views, reports, forms, and automations
- Document processes and provide user training or guidance
- Help identify and solve data or workflow problems
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients on project planning and delivery
- Assist with system integrations, API setup, or Zapier/automation tools
Essential skills & experience
- 1+ yrs experience working with CRM platforms (e.g. Beacon, Salesforce, Donorfy, Raiser’s Edge, D365 etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and comfortable working with secure data
- Strong client communication skills and a collaborative approach
- An understanding of charity operations such as fundraising, membership, or communications
Desirable – not essential as training can be given
- Direct experience with Beacon CRM
- Experience with data imports, API connections, or automation tools (Zapier, Make, etc.)
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection in the charity context
- Ability to design and document user-friendly processes
Training & support
We provide structured onboarding and access to hands-on training for Beacon CRM, including mentoring from experienced consultants. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their experience with charity CRMs while working flexibly.
